About The Course

This course is designed to support the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of educators, school leaders, childcare professionals, and all adults working with children and young people.

Content

The course provides essential knowledge and practical strategies to help participants understand their responsibilities with respect to UAE Culture and Law.  

This course introduces the cultural, legal and professional context of working in schools in the United Arab Emirates. Although UAE schools are highly international, they operate within the country’s cultural traditions, values and legal frameworks. In this session, we will explore the cultural foundations of the UAE, the role of Islam in daily life, and expectations around respectful communication and professional behaviour. We will also examine key laws and education policies that guide schools, including child protection legislation, inclusion policies and inspection frameworks. By the end of the course, participants will better understand how to work professionally, respectfully and responsibly within the UAE education environment.

Learning Aims

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this discussion you will be able to describe key UAE cultural values, traditions, and legal principles that influence school environments and apply understanding of UAE education frameworks and laws to professional behaviour in schools.

Mandatory 3 of 5: Code of Conduct for UAE Educators

Course exploring ethical conduct, professional responsibilities, safeguarding, confidentiality, and respectful behaviour expected of educators.

This course is designed to support the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of educators, school leaders, childcare professionals, and all adults working with children and young people.

Content

This course introduces the Code of Conduct for Educators in the UAE and explores the professional responsibilities expected of those working in education. Educators hold a position of trust and influence, and their behaviour directly impacts students, schools and the wider community. Throughout this training, we will examine the key principles of professional conduct, including integrity, respect, confidentiality and safeguarding. We will also explore acceptable and prohibited behaviours in relationships with students, parents and colleagues. By the end of the course, participants will have a clearer understanding of the standards required of educators and how these principles support safe, ethical and professional educational environments.

Mandatory 4 of 5: Basic Security, Health, Safety and Wellbeing for UAE Educators

Course introducing UAE culture, laws, education frameworks for Basic Security, Health, Safety and Wellbeing alongside professional expectations for staff working in schools.

This course is designed to support the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of educators, school leaders, childcare professionals, and all adults working with children and young people.

Content

This course introduces the cultural, legal and professional context of working in schools in the United Arab Emirates. Although UAE schools are highly international, they operate within the country’s health and safety laws and frameworks. In this session, we will explore basic security, health, safety and well-being to ensure that educators understand their role in protecting both students and colleagues. Schools are complex environments where many different activities occur each day. Students move between classrooms, participate in sports, conduct science experiments, interact socially and engage with digital technology. Each of these activities presents potential risks that must be recognised and managed responsibly.By the end of the course, participants will better understand how to work professionally, respectfully and responsibly within the UAE education environment.

Mandatory 5 of 5: Inclusive Education In the UAE

Course introducing UAE inclusive education frameworks, and professional expectations for staff working in schools.

About The Course

This course is designed to support the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of educators, school leaders, childcare professionals, and all adults working with children and young people.

Content

This course provides a comprehensive guide to inclusive education within the United Arab Emirates (UAE) frameworks, defining inclusion as a mindset and the core responsibility of every teacher for all learners, including students of determination, gifted, and EAL students. It details the critical process of early identification, relying on professional judgment and evidence, and introduces the central strategy: the Graduated Response. This three-level system uses the Assess–Plan–Do–Review cycle to ensure flexible, needs-led support. Effective implementation requires the collaborative Team Around the Child (TAC), the creation of specific Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and the embedding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and wellbeing strategies. Ultimately, the course emphasizes shared accountability for preparing every child for a meaningful life beyond school.
